Abstract

Although the relationship between a woman's hair length, attractiveness and perceived intelligence has been studied, the same relationship has not been investigated in males (Buss, 1995; Buss & Schmitt, 1993; Hinsz, Matz, and Patience 2001; Mesko & Bereczkei 2004). In the present study, 148 female Towson University undergraduate students rated photos of male models in terms of these two attributes, among others. There was found to be two significant main effects of the Hair length and Model, specifically on the two main attributes of attractiveness and intelligence.
