Abstract

A paper written with the broad theme of surveillance in mind, "So you want to be a spy?" traces the history of spyware and analyzes its necessity considering present international circumstances. A semester-long effort, the paper features a variety of research mediums, including personal interviews and information gathered at various museums. The topic was inspired by interests in cryptology and films involving spywork.
