dc.description.abstractThe primary aim of this method is to emulate the naturally occurring mechanisms which take place in vivo, when converting preproinsulin into metabolically active insulin (4). Figure 2, displays the binding of pre-proinsulin to a CM HiTrap FF column (pH 3.0) followed by cleavage and threonine addition to the terminal B29 residue. The final product is then eluted using a linear salt gradient.en_US
