After participating in a three-week Intensive Course Abroad (ICA) that focused on arts administration practices of the Netherlands, "The Arts of Amsterdam: Arts Administration and Behind-the-Scenes of the Visual and Performing Arts in Holland," I continued my research and interest in looking at public art, pop-ups, and art festivals within Europe. Upon returning to Goucher after my travels, I designed and installed an exhibit within the student gallery space, the Corrin Gallery, entitled "A Study of Cross-Cultural Public Arts Spaces,” that compared public arts spaces in Baltimore, Maryland and cities in the Netherlands, as well as other European cities. In conjunction with the exhibition I installed two temporary pop-up public art pieces on Goucher College's campus throughout academic buildings in February 2016, entitled "What Drives You?" and "Thoughts To Be Considered," and provided an artist talk for the community. The goal of this informational exhibit and pop-up display of art was to portray the significance of public art as well as the variety of forms that public art can come in. The public installations were meant to interrupt the Goucher community and make them think about their life and the lives of those around them, having them contemplate what truly should be a priority in life. Public art, in all forms, can unify a community.en_US
