Abstract
We have developed a three-dimensional model to study the properties of terahertz emission from a one-dimensional, 𝜒⁽²⁾-doped photonic crystal. We exploit difference-frequency generation in a collinear configuration and find an enhancement factor of up to 20 with respect to difference-frequency conversion from an equivalent bulk structure.
