Abstract

In the following action research study, the educator examined the impact on peer-to-peer relationships with the implementation of a morning meeting. Relationships are a key component in today’s 21st century classroom and the research indicate that students who have more positive relationships often perform better academically and have a higher trajectory for success after school. The hypothesis in this study was that the use of a morning meeting will have no impact on positive peer-to-peer relationships. The subjects were that of a 4th grade classroom in Anne Arundel County Maryland. Pretest data was collected using a tool titled “Bullying Self-Assessment Grades 3-5”. Implementation of the morning meeting began. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the action research study is incomplete without any posttest data.
