Abstract

The framework of this Capstone project has taken form throughout my time participating and living in the community of Port Orchard, WA. The project has worked towards adapting methods for collecting ways individuals connect to place. The objectives behind the project were to develop and implement ways for obtaining written and visualized experiences of connections to places of meaning and memory. The project advanced towards deeper considerations of how applied theories and methodologies from the field of Cultural Sustainability may be employed when working with communities to generate community-engaged approaches for sustaining place.
