Preservation issues related to the Peter Pan Cannery in Dillingham, Alaska are discussed. These issues include National Register listing, tourism, and federal investment tax credits. The Peter Pan Cannery is situated on the Nushagak River and is representative of salmon canneries in Alaska. The cannery complex consists of twenty-four structures, most of which are wood-framed and metal­ sided buildings. The entire cannery complex expresses the operation of the canned salmon industry.
