This descriptive study surveyed 44 graduate students in the Master of Education program of a small liberal arts college. The survey identified some areas where teachers are successful in identifying characteristics; however, the majority of dyslexia characteristics were not identified. Research in this area should continue with a sample of teachers in preschool to third grade. Another area of research would be how the use of and advancements in technology are helping dyslexic students and how these resources may minimize dyslexic characteristics.
