Mulderrig, Madeleine2016-02-242016-02-242013-05http://hdl.handle.net/11603/2340The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of mental imagery on the mental strength of collegiate athletes during practice and competition. The measurement tool was the Sport Psychology Questionnaire for Swimmers, which assessed the levels of existing mental strength for each athlete at the beginning of mental imagery implementation and again at the end of the six-week period. No statistically significant findings on any of the questions on the survey were found and the null hypothesis was retained. Research in this area should continue, as there is very little information available regarding mental imagery and its quantifiable effects on the mental states of athletes.53 p.en-USCollection may be protected under Title 17 of the U.S. Copyright Law.
