The study reviewed the benefits of mindfulness on student’s health, behavior, detention and suspension rates. The literature review examined research to indicate mindfulness interventions can aide students with behavioral problems, Attention Deficient Disorder, depression, and mental health concerns. The study determined the use of mindfulness intervention helped students appear calmer, less stressed and able to return to their work.The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which mindfulness activities are currently being used in a Baltimore County Middle School. The study was used to determine if mindfulness interventions were being used and to what extend. The measurement tool was an observation sheet created by the observer. The observation sheet was used to collect data in relation to mindfulness interventions being conducted in the classroom setting. The study was used to determine if mindfulness interventions could decrease negative behavior in the classroom.
