Brennan, SarahMeise, Amanda2019-07-162019-07-162019-07-16http://hdl.handle.net/11603/14393The purpose of this study was to provide first grade students who have been exposed to trauma, with strategies to build coping skills to improve their behavior in a school setting. The measurement tool used was a behavioral checklist provided by Harford County Public Schools. The students selected in this study had an ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) score of a three or higher. This study involved the use of a pretest and a posttest design to compare the data. This study suggests teaching, implementing coping skills and providing tools increased positive student behavior in a classroom setting. Research in this area should continue with a condensed group of students.29 Pagesen-USThis work may be protected under Title 17 of the U.S. Copyright Law.
