Assessments included speech in noise, frequency pattern, and low-pass filtered speech. Twenty-five normal-hearing, typically developing adults were administered these tests in both an ideal sound-treated booth and while ambient environmental noise was routed through a sound field setup. Results yielded no overall effect of the environmental noise on the overall performance on the measures.
