Due to the complexity of the relevant evaluation functions, which cannot be optimized with classical calculus techniques, the proposed methods rely on customized genetic algorithms for optimizing the selection, sequencing and scheduling of the interrelated alternatives. Three applications to urban transportation networks are presented in journal papers which are included in appendices.
