Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine whether core strength would increase overall sports performance. The research was to determine if women could produce more force production when kicking and throwing a soccer ball as a result of increased core strength. A test created by the researcher was used based on previous research to measure adequate core strength. The study was quasi-experimental and used a pre-test and post-test design. The results of the current study supported the null hypothesis and show no statistical significance based on the results of the tests. Based on the results of the study, further research would have to be done to examine the relationship between core strength and sports performance.
