Abstract
[From paper:] Music has been an integral part of human civilizations for roughly 35,000 years. From the most isolated tribes, to booming metropolises, music still plays a significant role in every culture throughout the world. Music has clearly been a substantial part of human culture for thousands of years, but many question its true value in a wider sense. Modern research suggests that music therapy, which is the implementation of music to achieve a desired goal or outcome like mental clarity or improved focus, could be incredibly helpful to people around the world. The effects of music on brain functions such as auditory processing, emotional processing, and cognitive control exemplify the amazing benefits music therapy can have.
