Culture is “a fuzzy set of basic assumptions and values, orientations to life, beliefs, policies, procedures and behavioural conventions that are shared by a group of people, and that influence (but do not determine) each members behaviour and his/her interpretations of the meaning of other people's behaviour" (Spencer-Oatey, 2008, p. 3). (AECT Culture, Learning, & Technology) With increasing cross-cultural scholarly activities, newer themes, methods, and formats emerge as seen in recent publications in TechTrends, ETR&D, and JAID. At this forum, editors and authors will share their insights and experiences about the following topics: What are emerging cross-cultural research themes in instructional design and educational technology fields? How do research methods evolve in cross-cultural scholarship development? The session is purposed to provide grounding introduction to cross-cultural research development for scholars, researchers, and practitioners in instructional design, educational technology and communication.en
