dc.description.abstractAt the nanoscale, simple liquids are expected to exhibit complex fluid-mechanical behavior, including viscoelasticity and violation of the no-slip boundary condition. We have observed these phenomena experimentally by optically exciting and probing the vibrations of metal nanoparticles in liquids.en_US
