Abstract

Eme is a performative documentary, a journey to the militant activist past of an urban former guerrilla woman, who was part of the M-19 or Movement of April 19th (‘el m’). This short film is a reflection of the contradictory but empowering processes of joining a revolutionary movement and outgrowing it. Developed from a feminist and, both personal and mediated, conception of memory and womanhood, this documentary is about the survival of agency and hope even in contexts of conflict.
