Abstract

The Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) Developed by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center • Flagship mission of NASA’s Living With a Star program • Launched in 2010 and expected to remain operational until 2030 • Circular geosynchronous orbit inclined by 28.5° (35,789 km altitude) • Continuous contact with a ground station in White Sands • SDO orbit minimizes eclipses (happening only twice a year)
