Abstract
The purpose of this research was to determine which of two vocabulary intervention programs, the Right Answer, Right Now for Words with Multiple Meanings program or Elements of Reading: Vocabulary program, is more effective in increasing the reading comprehension level of second-grade students. To examine the effectiveness of the programs on reading comprehension, the study utilized the pre-test/post-test quasi-experimental design. The treatment, the administration of the two vocabulary programs, took place for a period of 6 weeks. Based on the pre and post-test results, the Right Answer, Right Now for Words with Multiple Meanings Program was more effective at increasing reading comprehension, confirming the hypothesis.
