Over the years linguistics and archaeology have been synthesized in order to explain how various language families formed. However, studies examining the problem from a uniquely geographic perspective are lacking. This study examined how the Proto-Germanic language formed. Archaeological, geogenetic, and temporal data was gathered and put into a GIS for analysis using statistics and intersects. The conclusion was that the language formed somewhere in southern Scandinavia through a process of intermingling after an initial clash between an indigenous agricultural group and an invading tribe from the North Pontic Steppes.en_US
