dc.description.abstractThe Goucher College library has a number of works by James Stephens, many of which were given to the college by Eleanor Falley, a former librarian. Since her donation in the 1950s, Goucher has acquired several other works by Stephens, but none so large of a gift as Falley’s donation. My research aims to provide an overview of the readership of the Stephens’ books gifted by Falley. In studying the handwritten notes, catalogue clippings, and bookshop records that are in Goucher ’s copies, I intend to give an overview of the people reading, selling, and buying the books that Goucher has today.
