The purpose of this study was to discover if a break period had an impact on the on-task behavior of elementary school students. The measurement tool used was an observational checklist during a one-hour period after a 20-minute break was given. This study involved use of a one-group pre-post-test design. Results indicated that the break period helped to significantly increase on task behavior. More research must be conducted before these results can be generalized to other students.en_US
