| dc.description.abstract | This study examines nonprofit organizations’ (NPOs) Twitter discourse surrounding the #StopAAPIHate movement. A qualitative thematic content analysis of NPOs’ tweets reveals six distinct themes highlighting the role of NPOs in facilitating the #StopAAPIHate movement and fighting racism: building a collective identity, producing knowledge, calling for action, forming a coalition, advocating policy change, and promoting organizations’ own achievements. Our findings demonstrate the unique roles of NPOs in the #StopAAPIHate movement, exemplifying the irreplaceable advantages of NPOs in resource mobilization and promoting collective action. The research findings provide an overview of NPOs’ practices in engaging in online social activism and serve as a crucial piece of the larger scholarly map to reveal the dynamics of online social movements. | |
