dc.description.abstractThis paper explores research in Participatory Design when working with student populations. It combines existing design frameworks and integrates them with the Montessori Method and 21st Century Skills to produce learning outcomes that can satisfy curriculum standards in public schools. Using the method proposed in this study, teachers and designers have a way to incorporate the design process in a public school setting. The study followed a group of elementary school students through the design process to create a Citizen Science Portal. The process included research, design, prototyping, testing, and revision.en_US
