dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to determine if students would be impacted academically and view school and themselves in a different way after participating in daily, character building class meetings. The measurement tool used was the Fountas & Pinnell running record system and a survey designed by the researcher that was given at both the beginning and end of the study. The researcher hypothesized that there would be no significant change in students’ perceptions of themselves and school due to the implementation of daily, character building focused class meetings. At the end of the study, students’ scores on the post-test survey showed improvement in their perceptions of themselves and others. Their reading academic achievement also showed improvement.en_US
