The purpose of this study is to investigate the current Cybersecurity safeguarding decision-making practices of the care recipient with mild cognitive impairment and their caregiver. The study included interviewing five couples and performing an inductive qualitative analysis treating each couple as an individual case to understand the different decision-making styles and emergent needs from a person-centered approach. A gap was discovered between the desire of the couples to make decisions together and the actuality in most of the cases of a "one-sided” decision-making style by the caregiver. To enhance their decision-making practices from a person-centered perspective, I suggest a system that could be used to bridge the gap between wishful and actual decision-making styles through a shared decision-making user interface.
