The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mentoring on the behavior of boys in an urban charter school. The intervention group consisted of 32 boys and the comparison group consisted of 29 boys. The types of mentoring included therapeutic mentoring, sports group mentoring with a character education component, and peer mentoring. The analysis using an independent t-test revealed that mentoring did not positively impact the behavior of boys as a whole group. The findings of the study reject the null hypothesis that mentoring will have no impact on the behavior of boys. The results of this study suggest the need for further research regarding the behavior of pre-adolescent boys.en_US
