The purpose of this study was to determine whether an after school tutoring session had an impact on standardized test scores for 7th grade students. The study used a quasiexperimental pretest/posttest design to determine the effect of the tutoring class. The study began in January of 2013 and concluded in March of 2013. There was no statistically significant effect on test scores for the students who stayed for the after school tutoring sessions. Future research on this study could require below level students to attend the tutoring sessions and schedule those sessions during the scheduled school day.en_US
