Abstract

A genealogy of the family of Peter and Harriet Gough, who were enslaved on the Brome Plantation in St. Mary's City, St. Mary's County, Maryland, and manumitted on 1 November 1864, when slavery was declared illegal in the State of Maryland. At the direction of Professor Randell, this genealogy is written in "Register Style," the formatting schema of the New England Historic Genealogical Register.
