Abstract

This PowerPoint presentation introduces the major players in video format history, preservation issues, best practices, problem solving, and practical examples of preservation practiced at the University of Baltimore's Langsdale Library Special Collections Department. It was part of a six-hour American Library Association (ALA) preconference workshop in San Francisco, California, on preserving, protecting and making audiovisual material accessible, organized by a group from the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) and presented by the Video Round Table (VRT) of the ALA.
