dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to determine the effect injury has on an athlete’s mental health. The research hypothesized that the athletes who had suffered through a long-term injury would have a more negative mental health than the athletes who had not. The research methodology used in this study was a descriptive approach through the use of a questionnaire. Data did not support the hypothesis that injured athletes have a more negative outlook when compared to athletes without a long-term injury. Research should be continued as the sample set of data collected was impacted due to COVID-19 limiting access to participants.
