LONG RANGE IDENTIFICATION AND TRACKING BUSINESS HELP DESK INVOICE VERIFICATION TOOL

Abstract

This document reports on the software development activities that took place during a year-long field work project. It describes the project and software components of an Invoice Verification tool that have been added to a legacy vessel tracking system for the United States Coast Guard. The first, test version of the system was released to production in December of 2010 and the final release was made available in April 2011. The software is now operational and used in the field. Before the Invoice Verification tool was developed database administrators would perform manual queries to obtain results. This process was time consuming and their results were difficult to decipher. The Invoice Verification tool provides this same ability to average computer users in a usable, simple fashion and in a significantly shorter amount of time.
