Abstract
The transformation of our collections at an ever-increasing pace sometimes leaves us feeling like we're being swept downstream without a paddle. Consensus-based standards and best practices have become increasingly important in supporting our work. This presentation will provide an overview of recent initiatives and their relevance to our work. These include the newly-adopted NISO Access & License Indicators, Open Discovery Initiative, and Demand-Driven Acquisition Recommended Practices; new COUNTER Codes of Practice for Articles and Usage Factors; the Transfer Code of Practice, which has become a NISO Recommended Practice; updates to the Knowledge Bases and Related Tools (KBART) Recommended Practice; and recent NISO initiatives related to patron and data privacy.
