This Capstone project explores celebrated authors George Eliot and Virginia Woolf. While they published nearly a century apart and lived in markedly different literary and social periods, Eliot and Woolf shared a kinship in fundamental areas of their craft. The authors' respective ethic and method show important commonalities, their development of and interest in character were aligned, and certainly, belonging to a profession dominated by men shaped their respective careers in significant ways. The Capstone project analyzes these kinships, while revealing divergences that mark each author and her work as uniquely her own.
