| dc.description.abstract | This thesis presents an original collection of poetry, "Of No Special Courage." The poetry chronicles a medical crisis and a family's efforts to recover. The collection is introduced by an overview of poetry therapy and a discussion of Mary Oliver's book-length poem, The Leaf and The Cloud, which is often used in therapeutic settings and which was a source of solace and inspiration in the development of this collection. | |
