Abstract

This chapter will clearly define the meaning of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). DEI will be described as a mindset and proactive action that was initiated by organizational leaders to create a harmonious, equal, and equitable workplace environment where everyone could excel in their particular position. In addition, this chapter will examine the highly controversial perspective of DEI initiatives and the results of states in this country eliminating these efforts for equal opportunities.
