This thesis attempts to further understand the psycho-social adjustment of our senior citizens. It will include the traditional literature review, an analysis of the results of a questionnaire relevant to engagement and life satisfaction among the elderly (administered to approximately 300 senior citizens), and finally a summarizing statement with implications as to the theories' future significance. It is hoped that as a result of this academic venture, a vision may indeed be caught as to how the environment of the elderly may be "humanized."
