dc.description.abstractHomecoming Activities: Homecoming Overview: Morgan State University held its annual Homecoming week from October 13-20. The theme was "Morgan's Celebration of Family Heritage Has Never Been Better." Homecoming activities are a time for alumni to return, rekindle old friendships, and celebrate the university's spirit. Events included a football game, parade, step shows, and a concert. Homecoming Concert: The concert featured performances by Queen Latifah, Poor Righteous Teachers, YZ, Kool G Rap, and DJ Polo. The theme of the concert was "The Power of Our Heritage," reflecting a celebration of African-American culture and music​(The Spokesman, Oct 20, …)​​(The Spokesman, Nov 9, 1…)​. Campus Security: Security Enhancements: The university is improving campus security with new measures, including hiring six new officers undergoing police academy training. Security booths have been placed between the Refectory and Spencer Hall, and regular patrols have been implemented around the campus and student housing complexes. Lighting Improvements: Campus lighting has been improved, especially in dormitory areas and between the Hill Field House and the Argonne Complex. A new and improved lighting system is being planned to enhance safety further. Infirmary and Mail Room: The infirmary is under new administration, and services are being offered on a restricted basis due to ongoing improvements.
