From an analysis of magnetohydrodynamic turbulent processes, the authors conclude that the frequent observation of outward-propagating Alfvénic fluctuations in the solar wind can arise from early states of in situ turbulent evolution, and need not reflect coronal processes as has hitherto been assumed.en_US
