Abstract

Censorship Issues: The publication discusses the challenges it faced with censorship and prior restraint from university administrators. These issues have recently been resolved, but the fate of the student newspaper hangs in the balance as the administration decides its future role. "The Merchant of Venice" Adaptation: Theatre Morgan presented an adaptation of Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice," setting it in the 1940s to reflect the historical context of anti-Semitism. The production received praise for its updated time frame, historically accurate costumes, and strong performances. "Takers" Movie Premiere: Screenwriter Peter Allen visited Morgan State University to discuss his recent hit blockbuster "Takers," which features a predominantly black cast. The movie, inspired by "Heat," has been successful, earning $21 million in its opening weekend. Fashion Show: The homecoming fashion show at Morgan State University featured three fashion houses, including the established Fashion at Morgan brand and newcomers Absolutely Beautiful and Confident (A.B.C.) and iConic Modeling Empirical. The theme "The Three Worlds Collide" showcased a mix of high fashion, urban styles, and unique runway techniques. R.U.L.E.S. for Black Men Symposium: An event organized by Strong Men Overcoming Obstacles Through Hard Work (S.M.O.O.T.H.) and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity focused on brotherhood, networking, and leadership within the Black community. It featured various panel discussions and a "Dress for Success" segment. Golden Key Induction: The Golden Key International Honour Society held its induction ceremony for new members, recognizing their academic achievements and providing opportunities for scholarships, internships, and job placements.
