Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine if third grade student mathematics achievement would grow after participating in small group instruction. The measurement tool was the Baltimore County Public School Periodic Assessment for Unit 3. This study involved use data collection from a pre/posttest design. Achievement gains were significantly higher in the group that was measured after small group instruction. There is quite a bit of research in done on the study of small group instruction being of benefit to students.
